4 Ghostbuster Food Ideas – Halloween Food For A Party
Ghostbusters food is the one theme I can never talk myself out of, and it’s almost entirely because of the color.
Green frosting, green popcorn, green everything.
I know it looks like a lot of work and most of it really isn’t.
It’s food you already know how to make with one thing changed.
Four below.

1. Ghostbusters Cupcakes with Lime Curd Slime Filling
The filling is the whole thing here.
You core the cupcake, fill it with lime curd, and it oozes when someone bites in.
Lime curd is sharp enough to cut through all that frosting, which matters more than you’d think on a cupcake this sweet.
Core them with the wide end of a piping tip if you don’t own a corer.
Fill them close to serving.
Curd sitting in sponge for hours softens the cake around it.
This is the one I’d make if you want people to actually react.
2. Stay Puft Marshmallow Treats
Marshmallows with faces on them.
Hand this one to a kid, because there’s no baking and nothing to burn.
Drawing the faces is the only fiddly part, and a fine-tip edible marker beats piping by a mile.
Do a few extra.
You’ll wreck two or three learning how hard to press.
3. Ghostbusters Popcorn
Green candy-coated popcorn, and it’s the easiest thing here by a distance.
Make a big bowl if you’re doing a movie night.
It disappears faster than anything you’ll have spent real time on.
Spread it on parchment to set, or you’ll end up with one enormous popcorn brick.
Salt it while the coating is still wet.
Sweet green popcorn with no salt gets boring around handful three.
4. Lime Slime Cupcakes
A second green cupcake, and I nearly left it out for that reason.
It stays because it’s the simpler one.
The slime goes on top, so there’s no coring and no curd to make.
Swirl the frosting high and let it drip down one side on purpose.
Putting a table together
Four dishes is enough for a movie night.
I’d take four good ones over ten where half are green by association.
Two of these are cupcakes, so put them at opposite ends and they read as variety.
The popcorn is what people eat while the movie’s on, so it belongs somewhere they can reach without getting up.
Everything else on the table can be normal food.
One bowl of chips does not need a theme.
Getting the green right
Gel coloring, not liquid, for anything you’re frosting or coating.
Liquid coloring thins buttercream and you’ll chase it with more sugar all afternoon.
Go one shade brighter than looks right in the bowl.
Green dulls as it sets, and slime that’s gone gray is just sad.
If you’re making more than one of these, color a single big batch of frosting and split it.
Then your greens match across the table.
