Aurora over Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park last night. Still finding it hard to believe last night was real. Feels like a dream. The strongest solar activity in decades, one of the strongest Northern Lights displays in recent history. I am awestruck. I sat there imagining what people of the past must have thought before a scientific understanding of the aurora. It’s fascinating actually; I encourage you to Google various cultures’ myths and legends regarding the Northern Lights — interesting how some cultures revered the lights positively, perhaps as signs from their gods or communication from their ancestors, while others saw them as bad omens, signs of trouble or fire, or even things not to be spoken of.
